1. Draft

Initial drawing with charcoal on a white canvas. Scaling of the desired image on a white canvas, with extreme detail on the proportions within the shapes. Analyzing whether to add or eliminate details, and defining the final painting.

2. First Layer of Paint

Covering the entire canvas with a first layer of paint. The initial colors used are close to the final colors, to establish basic light and shadows to the shapes. Corrections may be made to the original drawing.

3. Finishing Touches

Applying the second layer of paint, with finishings like shading, lighting and fine details. The second layer of paint will include the final colors. In the case of a portrait, the painting will accurately resemble the original photo. A final brush-up of the painting to give it a perfect look.

Custom-Made Wooden Frames

This kind of artwork starts with drawing the image contour on the canvas.

Once this is done, a wooden frame is built according to the contour’s shape and the canvas is stretched on the wooden frame.

The difficulty of this process will vary according to the shape’s complexity. After the canvas is affixed to its frame, the process of painting begins.
